Magic Kingdom Final Wishes

Today we were returning to Magic Kingdom to continue on with the 2nd part of the park that includes Adventure Land and Frontier Land, of course we would also try to return to our favourite attractions for a second viewing as this park is enormous and I still think we would not see it all. As it turned out we lasted till about 3:00pm today before we had enough of the heat, we all headed home for the day and headed back later after dinner (mum decided to stay home) for more adventure.

If you remember my earlier post I had a small dig at the pram pushers and all the wheelchairs in this park – ouch did that come and bite me in the ass. At the end of the day yesterday we were all in the pool and some how Brianna bent back her toes and could barely walk.

Adventure Land
Pirates with adventure was the theme and we had a couple of fastpass+ attractions to get to, the weather was quite warm (hot) already so we were also looking for some sit down in the shade type attractions to enjoy which we found with the Enchanted Tiki Room – a room filled with robotic birds, flowers and face temples all singing with a grand finale.

Other attractions included;

  • Swiss Family Treehouse
  • Jungle Cruise – a boat cruise displaying animals that are located in the world’s 4 largest rivers Nile, Amazon, Mississippi and Yangtze.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean – another boat ride that goes through the scenes of the movie, the rumour is that Johnny Depp occasional will surprise guests and add himself into the scene where he is located to playout his part of the story.

Frontier Land
Themed for the rockie mountain range and back in the day when they used railroads as transport, this area was quite a large space as most of the rides were large in length of time and space, these also had long wait times but we managed to fastpass+ these attractions also so we didn’t have to wait.

  • Tom Sawyer Island
  • Liberty Square Riverboat
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
A train coaster that has its own little flair from all the other coasters experienced, this ride went up 3 tow tracks so it was like having 3 short course coasters on the one ride, which gave you a very good ride time – probably one of the longest. This ride must have been good as we opted to ride this twice and then again at night, Our Family Review is 9/10
  • Splash Mountain
A water boat ride with a a couple of splashes, we had a very long wait on this ride (50 minutes) in the heat with air conditioning every now and then, but when we got on the ride it was worth the wait. While we did not get very wet on this ride it had a couple of good moments during the ride with great visual displays. This ride also had 2 drops with the last one being 50ft. Our Family Review 8/10.

Later that evening….
We went to Disney Springs Raglan Restaurant (Irish Pub) where the entertainment was better than the food or the server for night before the 4 of us headed back to Magic Kingdom to experience it at night as well as the magic hours (extra hours for resort guests (10pm – 12am). Unfortunately mum’s ankles had flared up and would not join us for the evening experience.

The main street was all lit up with lits and looked better in real time than the photo displays with the Magic Kingdom displaying its beauty with coloured lights changing all the time. Tonight we wandered around the park but had a plan to jump onto our 2 favourite attractions at night – Big Thunder Mountain RailRoad & Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, we also managed to squeeze in Tomorrow Land Speedway as well as Space Mountain.

Hi Ho Hi Ho, its home we have to go… 12:30am

The Following Day 11/05
After a lazy morning to say the least I decided to take out the girls to allow Belinda ample time and control over the packing of the bags due to the extra purchases now made. The girls and I enjoyed an afternoon out and about playing mini golf, ferry ride and lunch @ Epcot. On returning back to Art of Animation resort they had a little rest before heading down by the pool for Mickey Mouse Tie Dye.

We all headed back to EPCOT for dinner where we enjoyed chinese to then catch the monorail to Magic Kingdom, little did we know that we would have to get off and catch either the connecting monorail or a large ferry across the lake – we chose the ferry after a mad dash for it. From the moment we left EPCOT poor mum needed the afterburners on to keep up with us as we were very lucky with each form of transport just making it before the doors closed – we did have to stand though!

Our last night in Disney World and it would also be the last night of the Magic Kingdom Happily Ever After fireworks show as it is being replaced with a new laser fireworks demonstration, for those that may have not seen it I posted it live using facebook with the LIVE VIDEO. Of course we had fast passes booked again but not for rides or attractions but for meet n greets with those characters again but this time it was with all the princesses that Disney has to offer – this must have been the longest we had to wait to see 4 people and most of the line was made up of adults.

That my friends is the end of our Disney Adventure but be sure to read my next blog as I review aspects of this Magical Experience in Walt Disney World #collectingmemoriesnotthings.
