Epcot comes alive in Spring time with the Flower & Garden festival which includes bonus features like Topiaries and Gardens specifically designed for this event. I am no way a green thumb but this is truly spectacular piece of art in the formation of gardens. Hopefully the pictures give you an insight as to how good these are.
Besides the Flower & Garden festival there are some very cool attractions here to see and do, no bigger than walking around the World Showcase where you try foods from all around the world – fun fact: each country that is represented has their native origin cast members.
We have a couple of special attractions to mention here;
- Soaring
Set high above the ground in a mechanical hang glider that soars over the wonders of the world, this is very well done and includes the scents from the different scenes, for example when you go through africa and pass over and elephant throwing grass in the air as you soar over this scene you get a smell of grass. A very cool attraction completed by all the family, Family Review 9/10. - Test Track
Waiting in line you get to read about the new cars and the technology being developed to allow more efficient cars, you then enter the design section of this attraction where you get to build and design your car before you take it for a test drive. A test track which works through the car design of braking, control and then speed as you fly out of the garage into the outdoors for this super fast car ride, Family Review 9/10. - Living with the Land
A surprise I must say, not sure kids would enjoy this one but you board a boat and it takes you through the way the human race have destroyed the land and what we need to do to make better use of the “Land”. The boat enters into a conservatory where you can observe the plants and vegetables that are growing using improved technologies – fun fact is that over 15,000 tons of food is grown on site here for the different restaurants in Disney World. Family Review 7/10
Day 2 @ Epcot saw us heading straight into the World Showcase for a lunch time experience – German Bratwurst with Sauerkraut with macaroni cheese bake. Another couple of photos around the world and then we went back to some more attractions for the day/night which included;
- Mission Space – simulated launch into orbit which was a great concepts but we all felt a little woozy after this one.
- Disney Short 4D Film festival – another 4D cinema which was very well done
- Gran Fiesta Tour – a water boat ride show casing Mexico
Overall our time in Epcot has been great, the World Showcase is done very well and needs to be seen to get the real concept, we were also very lucky to have timed this during the Garden festival to witness the awesome Topari themes.
